The idea of the Earth changing its angle of declination relative to the Sun by any degree is not far fetched. It was for this reason that many ancient cultures celebrated the vernal (spring) and autumnal equnioxes as well as the winter and summer solstices.
Should the ancients look up in the sky or read off their celestial clocks and Stonehenge that the Sun did not turn back at Tropic of Cancer or Capricorn located at Latitude 23° 26” 11’ north and south of the equator or that the Sun had reversed its direction before getting to the equinoxes and solstices, they would know instantly that all hell will soon break loose on planet earth and that we have started a New Age!
Unlike the modern era, they did not take the rotation of the earth on its axis for granted.
For this reason, every year was precious to the ancients as they witnessed the Sun’s annual journey through the sky with reverence; closely observing the Sun’s death, birth and resurrection symbolized in Christianity by Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, which equates to the three days when the Sun is stationary in the sky over the points of the winter and summer solstices, when the Sun reaches its maximum north and south declinations of Latitude 23° 26” 11’. At that point, the Sun slows down, stops and reverses direction again.
When the Sun reverses direction at the winter and summer solstices, the ancients knew a New Year had begun and at that point they celebrated the resurrection or rebirth of the Sun in the northern and southern hemispheres.
Today, we take the Sun’s journey through the sky for granted. We believe that it was always so and will always be so. It can change at any time and it does change over time.
HOW CAN THE EARTH SHIFT OFF ITS AXIS?
There are basically four ways in which the earth could shift off its axis.
One is a gradual shifting process where the earth shifts off its axis by an unnoticable degree each year in the millionth and billionth of a second over a very long or short period of time.
The other is instantaneous involving a great force usually generated by an earthquake, asteroid, volcano or spontaneous landslide. If the impact is significant it will be noticed and felt right away, but the impact is small or negliable with respect to our human senses, it might not be noticed or felt in our weather patterns for months, years or centuries.
Of the two, we are more interested in the former, since it can be assumed that the earth is shifting off its axis over long period of time, where no one in the public really knows that this is happening for whatever reasons.
This lack of information we believe causes the greatest public concern fed by some websites that spread misinformation on the topic.
Some of these websites claim that the earth has shifted off its axis by as much as 26 degrees (See: http://www.divulgence.net/), which is not true.
Had the earth shifted off its axis by as much as 26 degrees, we would not be around to talk about it.
Should the earth shift gradually off its axis, rocks, dirt and earth underfoot most likely would shift and that shifting would perhaps trigger an immediate and instantenous collapse of buildings and high structures all over the world at about the same time. See: Collapses.
IMPACT OF 2004 EARTHQUAKE & TSUNAMI ON EARTH'S ROTATION & AXIS
The 2004 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake of magnitude 9.0 - 9.3 that occurred off-shore Banda Aceh on December 26, 2004; 7:58:50 AM impacted the earth's rotation and axis (Christmas Day in New York on December 25, 2004, 5:58:50, AM EST and London on December 25, 2004, 10:58:50 AM; GMT/UTC). This mighty earthquake and tsunami moved the earth off its axis by 2½ centimeters, increasing the earth's rotation by 3 millionth of a second, which has the effect of shortening the length of the day.
Matthew 24: 3 & 22: And what will be ... the end of the age. And unless those days were shorthened, no flesh would be saved.
SCIENTISTS WEIGHT IN
According to NOVA scientists in a featured documentary on pbs.org entitled Wave That Shook The World, tsunamis generated by earthquakes of the magnitude at Banda Aceh have the potential of putting ¼ of the world's population at risk, which translate into some 1 billion 650 million people using July 2007 world population estimate.
NEW YEAR CELEBRATION
The date for celebrating the NEW YEAR all around the world has been pushed back from the point of the winter solstice of December 21-22nd to that of the night of December 31st. New Year’s Day of January 1st has no astronomical or astrology meaning or significance whatsoever. January 1st was arbitrarily chosen and is meaningless when the start of the New Year is celebrated on this date.
January 1st is meaningless, yet we celebrate the New Year on this date, even in the Southern Hemisphere that starts summer at December 21-22nd each year.
January 1st is the first "official" day of the Gregorian calendar. It is an arbitrary starting date for the new year that was handed down to us from Roman times that wished to suppress nature religions. The Gregorian calendar is a reform of the Julian calendar that was named after Pope Gregory XIII. The Gregorian calendar is the most commonly used calendar in the world. It continues the numbering system of the Julian calendar. In creating the Gregorian calendar in 1582, 10 days were dropped from the Julian calendar to bring the Gregorian calendar in synch with the seasons of the year as well as the true length of the year through adoption of a leap year rule.
The true celestial New Year in the Northern Hemisphere for 2008 starts at the winter solstice on December 22, 2007 at 1:08 AM EST. This is the correct date and time to celebrate the 2008 New Year.
The New Year in the Southern Hemisphere should start on the first day of summer of about June 21-22 each year.
MAN AT THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE
Our sciences and philosophies place mankind at the center of the earth, solar system, galaxy and universe. It says we are in control and nothing else matters. We care not for our connection to the solar system, galaxy, universe and cosmos other than through space travel. We subjugate, disrespect and disregard as unimportant every other life form that exists on the earth. We test them, cage them, eat them and hunt them at our pleasure, as if they have no cosmic or universal significance or protector. We believe that we are superior to all, inferior to none! We rule for our own likes, dislieks and pleasure everything that exist on planet earth, even to the furthest depth of the earth and seas! Daniel 5: 22-24
CHECKING THE SUN'S DECLINATION TO 23° 26′ 22″ NORTH & SOUTH OF THE EQUATOR
An easy way to check the Sun’s declination of 23° 26′ 22″ north and south of the earth’s equator in relationship to the Ecliptic or celestial equator is to monitor the rising and setting of the Sun each day againt the time when the Sun should rise and set.
If the north and south declination increase by more than 23° 26′ 22″, the days will be longer and the nights will get shorter within each 24 hours period, or vice versus relative to how we normally experience our days and nights in each season of the year.
The easiest way to check this is to see if the Sun rises and sets at the exact time that the newspaper or any good website, e.g., http://www.sunrisesunset.com/ says that the Sun should rise or set each day. If the Sun rises and sets "on time" each day, then the declination is on track at 23° 26′ 22″ without change or deviation.
This method provides a very rough estimatation.
However, it does work and should be used by people who want to independently check to see if the earth has moved off its axis of Latitude 23° 26” 11’. This method allows any individual to independently check for possible changes in the Earthquake's axis vis-a-vis the Sun without relying on media or other sources for definitive results or information.
When the Sun reaches its most southern declination this winter of latitude 23° 26′ 22″ South at the Tropic of Capricorn that runs through South America and Australia, it will remain stationary for about a day (Trinity concept- death burial and resurrection) before starting its journey north to the Tropic of Cancer, which will occur this year on December 22, 2007 at exactly 1:08 AM EST, 5:08 AM GMT/UTC.
After December 22, 2007 the days will get longer until we reach spring next year, 2008, when the first day of spring will have equal day and equal night as the first day of autumn does each year.
After the spring equinox, the days will get longer than the nights within each 24 hours period.
The summer solstice of June 21, 2007 was when the Sun entered the Tropical sign of Cancer. This was the longest day of 2007 and everyone experienced it. Hence, we know that the declination is on track and that the earth has no shifted off its axis.
The same is true for the autumn equinox of September 23, 2007. The day and the night were of equal length on September 23, 2007, affirming that the Earth has no shifted off its axis and that we are still working within the declination of Latitude 23° 26” 11’.
Again, if the earth had shifted on its axis, the day and night of September 23, 2007 at the autum equinox would be unequal with night or day being longer or shorter than the other. This would indicate a shift in the earth's axis, for which no evidence exist.
The winter solstice of December 22, 2008 this year promises to be the shortest day of the year as well. This would be a good time for people to ascertain that the earth's angle of delination has not changed. Like the ancients, you can ascertain that the days are indeed getting longer after December 22, 2007.
Should the days not get longer after December 22, 2007, this would mean the earth's declination vis-a-vis the Sun has moved providing strong evidence that the earth has shifted on its axis.
Other than discussed above, no significant scientific or other evidence exist that we are aware of that might suggest that the earth has moved or shifted off its axis in a dramatic, life threatening way or that an axis shift occurred in the past or will happen again in the near or far future.
MAGNETIC POLE SHIFT
Magnetic pole shift is when the earth’s magnetic poles (north and south poles) switches from north to south and south to north or anywhere in-between.
A magnetic pole shift or reversal can occur independent of a shift in the earth's axis. Oftentimes one affects the other.
A full discussion of this matter can be found in books authored by Maurice Cotterell based on his research of ancient Mayan civilization and culture.
Based on a study of Sunspots, Cotterell says that if the Sun flips on its axis, it could cause a flip of the earth on its axis as well, and that this phenomena occurs every 4300+ years.
MAYAN PROPHECIES OF 2012
What 2012 really means with respect to Mayan prophesies is not clearly understood and many people are making interpretations and prophecies of their own.
Will something happen around the date 2012? Most likely something will. The Mayans were outstanding astronomers and astrologers. But so far we have not seen any arguments that clearly states what will happen in a persausive manner.
Some have proposed a reversal of the earth's magnetic field in 2012, but this can happen without causing a shift in the earth’s axis.
PRECESSION OF THE EQUINOXES
The Sun does not physically move in the sky or reverses position at the winter and summer equinoxes, but rather it is The Earth that reverses the tilt position of its wobble to lean in the opposite direction over the six months period causing what is known as the precession of the equinoxes.
In other words, the Sun never moves.
However, the APPARENT VIEW from where we are on earth is that the SUN is stationary and reverses its position in the sky at the time of the winter and summer solstices, but that is not so. It is the earth that is titling back and forth over the six months period, causing the earth to wobble.
The wobble causes the “Precession of the Equinox” that last some 26,000+ years.
