MARS IN CANCER
Mars entered Cancer in the Tropical Zodiac on September 29, 2007 and will remain there (except for retrograde motion in January and February 2008) until May 9, 2008.
On September 29, 2007, when Mars entered the Tropical Sign of Cancer, it was also at 6° of Gemini in the Sidereal Zodiac.
Mars will remain in Gemini in the Sidereal Zodiac until April 29, 2008 when it enters Cancer in that Zodiac. Mars leaves Cancer in the Sidereal Zodiac on June 21, 2008, which is the summer solstice.
On June 22, 2008, Mars leaves Cancer in the Sidereal Zodiac to enter Leo, promising a very hot and fiery summer, and yes, warmer temperatures do bring strong, and sometimes devastating, hurricanes in the Tropical Region of the Northern Hemisphere.
MARS WEAKENED BUT NOT DEAD
Mars is in a "fall" position (weakest possible position) in the Tropical Zodiac from September 29, 2007 to May 9, 2008, except from January 1, 2008 to March 4, 2008 when Mars retrogrades back into Gemini in the Tropical Zodiac.
During this period from September 29, 2007 to May 9th, 2008, the Moon in Aries and the Moon's Nodes, as well as other aspects of Saturn and Neptune in the Tropical Zodiac could have a stronger effect in triggering earthquakes or similar events.
This means that Mars energy (in terms of strength, motivation, zeal, drive, fervor, etc.) is the weakest that it can be in the Tropical Zodiac from September 29, 2007 to May 9, 2008, and therefore most likely will not act as a good initiator of earthquakes in that Zodiac during this period, but not so in the Sidereal Zodiac that rules universal forces where Mars will remain in Gemini from September 17, 2007 until April 28, 2008 before entering Cancer on April 29, 2008.
Although weakened by the Tropical Zodiac's influence in Cancer from September 29, 2007 to May 9, 2008, especially above and below the Tropics in the temperate zones of the northern and southern hemispheres, the only time that we can say with some sense of confidence that Mars would lose much of its initiatory power and pull is the period from April 29, 2008 to May 9, 2008 when Mars will be fully in the sign of Cancer in both the Tropical and Sidereal Zodiacs.
THE FALL OF MARS
During this CRITICAL 10-DAY FALL PERIOD of April 29, 2008 to May 9, 2008, (which needs further analysis in order to be more specific) we would expect a complete lull or almost no major earthquake activities or volcanic eruptions at all.
While some may think that this is good, it might not be so good after all - before a storm comes a calm.
THINGS FALL APART
When Mars loses its pull and power, things fall apart!
For example, things that depend on Mars energy and strength in order to win, push ahead or achieve success and sustenance often collapse or completely fall apart - including dams, bridges, governments, large businesses, strong political figures and other well maintained "Saturn-type" structures ("Saturn-type" means related to the planet Saturn and the Sign of Capricorn).
WHAT WILL CAUSE COLLAPSES?
What will cause these collapses during the Mars Fall Period, which has already begun, (essentially lasting from September 29, 2007 to June 21, 2008, summer solstice, but more critically during the 10-day period of April 29, 2008 to May 9, 2008) is not so much an explosion of any kind that may be external to the structure, but rather a collapse or implosion from within stemming from a lack of inner strength that might be found in the lack of tenacity of concrete or steel reinforcing rods used in buildings, dams, mines and bridges, decay and cavities with respect to teeth and bone structures in people and animals, lack of political will and/or support for governments and political figures, reduced earning capacity (strength) stemming from lower revenues for giant banks and corporations, water erosion from steam, snow, floods, heavy rain and/or storms (Uranus in Pisces), engine failure or collapse, that might be viewed as an implosion or explosion, due to the use of poor grade combustion fuels, including poorly developed and distributed bio-fuels, or poorly maintained engines that might have needed complete overall repair and upgrade for land, sea and air use or travel.
Examples include the plane crash south of London
killing five (5) caused by engine failure and the Crane Collapse in New York City killing four (4).

WHAT CAN BE DONE?
In this regard, it would be a good idea for civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers to complete all work in assessing / checking / fixing / repairing / upgrading bridges, dams, building, engines, machinery and other structures and take appropriate corrective actions before April 29, 2008 when Mars energy will fall to an all time low.
We need to get through this entire period with the least number of implosions and collapses that are detrimental and avoidable. Some collapses and implosions occurring during this period have been years in the making and in this regard are inevitable.
IMPACT ON DAMS
Weak dams could collapse during this period as well causing massive floodings - See Uranus in Pisces. Heavy Rains affecting Missouri's White River and the entire southeastern United States are good examples. See: Floods.
IMPACT ON VOLCANOES
We may find during this period that extremely active volcanoes may taper-off or completely stop and hurricanes and storms in warm or hot tropical regions of the world are no where to be found, except when Mars enters Leo after May 9, 2008 in the Tropical Zodiac and after June 21, 2008 in the Sidereal Zodiac.
Some wars and aggressive battles may "cool-down" or taper off during this period as well. This does not mean that these armed conflicts have stopped or ended or that they will not flare up again with even greater intensity when Mars enters Leo on June 22, 2008 or shortly thereof.
At that time, around June 21, 2008, all hell will break loose, meaning the biggest and largest volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornados occurring right around or after the 2008 summer solstice of June 21, 2008 (This could start up to 14 days earlier, e.g., as early as June 7, 2008.)
IMPACT ON WEATHER CONDITIONS
A lack of strong Mars energy from April 29, 2007 to May 9, 2008 could result in very cold, wintry-type weather conditions setting new world records in frigidity. In some countries in the Northern Hemisphere, it might actually feel like a New Ice Age dawning.
People in the Northern Hemisphere should prepare for cold weather late April to early May, and then a very hot summer after June 21, 2008. People in the Southern Hemisphere may experience the same as well.
