CHANGING OF THE GUARDS: This eclipse will affect entrenched political leaders and parties of all sort throughout the entire world, including Britain, USA, Japan and Mugabe's Zimbabwe. Those who are in power will fall and those political leaders (good and bad) that have been ignored and/or suppressed will dramatically rise during this eclipse period.
This article is an integral part of the article on the 2006 Solar Eclipse in Virgo, which is in the Sky Watch section of this website and should be read in conjunction with it. See: 2006 Solar Eclipse in Virgo.

A partial solar eclipse and New Moon occurred in the Tropical Sign of Virgo (and the Sidereal Sign of Leo) on Tuesday, September 11, 2007; 12:44 PM GMT/UTC. In a partial eclipse the Moon only blocks a part of the Sun.

The first solar eclipse in the Virgo-Pisces cycle occurred on Friday, September 22, 2006, 11:45 PM GMT/UTC. This was an annular eclipse where the Moon was silhouetted against the Sun showing a ring of sunlight around it. In a total eclipse, the Earth passes through the umbra (central dark part) of the Moon's shadow causing total darkness for observers on Earth that are within the narrow band of the Moon's shadow.

In both the 2006 and 2007 solar eclipses, the Sun and the Moon conjuncted the Moon's South Node that governs karma, honed skills, behaviors and actions of the past or prior periods.

The September 22, 2006 solar eclipse occurred in one sign in both the Tropical and Sidereal Signs of Virgo, while the September 11, 2007 solar eclipse occurred in two signs, which is the Tropical Sign of Virgo and the Sidereal Sign of Leo as well. The September 11, 2007 solar eclipse occurred in the Tropical Sign of Virgo at 18° Virgo 25' and also in the Sidereal Sign of Leo at 24° Leo 27'. Because of the Sidereal Leo connection, the solar eclipse of September 11, 2007 will have a major impact on world leaders, politicians, actors, performing artists and children of all ages.

We are witnessing is a changing of the guards. The 2007 Solar Eclipse in Virgo-Leo will affect entrenched political leaders and parties of all sort throughout the entire world, including Britain, USA, Japan and Mugabe's Zimbabwe. Those who are in power will fall and those political leaders (good and bad) that have been ignored and/or suppressed will dramatically rise during this eclipse period.

For example, Japan's Prime Minister of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Mr. Shinzo Abe was born on September 21, 1954 with his Sun at about 27° of Virgo. This means that the 2006 and 2007 solar eclipses at 29° and 18° of Virgo were near his Sun and would have affected him directly. Mr. Shinzo Abe took office around the time of the solar eclipse in Virgo in September 2006 and stepped down from office one day after the 2007 solar eclipse in Virgo/Leo of September 11, 2007. Tony Blair of Britain resigned earlier this year on June 26, 2007. We have recently witnessed the near collapse of President George W. Bush administration and a reversal and modification of his Iraq war policies. As the eclipse takes effect over the next 2-4 years, more world leaders will be eclipsed from power.
For this reason, ancient leaders feared eclipses, especially those occurring in the fixed signs of Leo, Aquarius in opposition to Leo, Taurus squaring Leo and Scorpio also squaring Leo.

The 2007 Solar Eclipse in Virgo-Leo sets the political stage for the expression of the coming Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on August 1, 2008 due to the Leo-Aquarius axis. The Solar Eclipse of September 11, 2007 in the Tropical Sign of Virgo also has expression in the Sidereal Zodiac in sign of Leo, which is in direct opposition to the Sidereal Sign of Aquarius. What this means is that it will not be clear or perfectly understood who the new political leaders, actors, etc. will be until just before or after the August 1, 2008 solar eclipse in Aquarius. Will a true Leo emerge. Certainly!!! But one that will find opposition at this time from every corner of their world until the summer of 2008 staring around the first solar eclipse in Aquarius on February 6, 2008.

Perhaps more than any other eclipse, the 2007 Solar Eclipse in the Virgo-Leo cycle will set the stage for the activation of the promised Age of Aquarius. This Age started about January 1, 2001 at the beginning of the Third Millennium. While the foundation for the"New Age" has been cosmically established, the energy needed to activate its presence will not be present until the Leo-Aquarius eclipse cycle starts around February 6, 2008.

However, one can take the point of view that the energy for the New Age was initiated by the 2007 Solar Eclipse in the Sidereal Sign of Leo due to its opposition to the Sidereal Sign of Aquarius. This could mean that much that occurs now that works against brotherhood and universal love will be reversed around the time of the solar eclipse in Aquarius on February 6, 2008. For example, peace movements that suffer severe set backs in September 2007 will make great leaps and advances around the time of the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius in February 2008.

The first eclipse in the 2-year Pisces-Virgo eclipse cycle started with a lunar eclipse in Virgo on March 14, 2006 and will end with a lunar eclipse in Virgo on February 20, 2008.

The orb was closer for the 2006 solar eclipse in Virgo (4 degrees from Moon's South Node to the Moon eclipsing the Sun) than in the 2007 solar eclipse in Virgo (11 degrees difference between the Sun, Moon and Moon's South Node).

Virgo dominates the Pisces-Virgo eclipse cycle with three lunar eclipses in Virgo (March 14, 2006, March 3, 2007 and February 20, 2008) and two solar eclipses in Virgo (September 22, 2006 and September 11, 2007) compared to two lunar eclipses in Pisces (September 7, 2006 and August 28, 2008) and only one solar eclipse in Pisces on March 18, 2007 - see Solar Eclipse in Pisces. This means that people will take a more rational and practical approach to religion using logic and common sense and not be swayed by illusions or religious fervor and zeal.

In addition, Virgo started and ends this two-year Pisces-Virgo eclipse cycle with lunar eclipses in Virgo (March 14, 2006 and February 20, 2008) whereby the Sun conjuncted the Moon's North Node and the Moon conjuncts the Moon's South Node. This means that over the next two year period extending out for the next 4-6 years, we will have strong feelings about developing a new direction or destiny by transforming old behaviors and patterns of thinking.

The solar eclipse of September 11, 2007 was visible from Antarctica, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay. The path that an eclipse takes usually points to the place where major inevitable changes will occur.

Places on the ascendant, mid-heaven, descendant and nadir of an eclipse are also important.

Places on the ascendant will be directly and personally affected with respect to their identity, role or how they are seen by others (e.g., Shinzo Abe's resignation discussed above). Places on the mid-heaven will go though major changes in strategy, direction or goal. Places on the descendant will experience events that they have no control over, e.g., earthquakes, storms, fires, civil unrest or national emergencies. Places on the nadir will experience profound inner psychological change and feelings about important home issues.

Places on the ascendant, mid-heaven, descendant and nadir of the 2007 solar eclipse in Virgo-Leo are as follows:

Central Canada, USA & Western Mexico
Western Portugal, Morocco and Sierra Leone
East Central Indian, Nepal and China
Southeast Asia, Wake Island and Southwest New Zealand

New York city falls under the strong influence of the 2007 solar eclipse in Virgo since it rained all morning on September 11, 2007 during the time when the partial solar eclipse occurred. Hence, the difficult periods above will affect New York City metro area as well in ways described herein.

Rain and overcast weather in New York on September 11, 2007 at the time of the solar eclipse in Virgo-Leo at 8:44 AM EST produces an "artificial eclipse" for the NY, NJ, CT metro area. This is true for the path and time of hurricanes and tornadoes, especially when they occur during an eclipse. Even though NY is not on the path of the eclipse nor on its ascendant, descendant, mid-heaven or nadir, the NY area would be strongly affected by this eclipse during the eclipse's difficult and beneficial periods shown below, e.g., NY Mets Baseball Team Collapse (large institution, fans, friends, play) on the difficult fourth prediction day of September 30, 2007.

Hence, New York and the affected metro area would be strongly affected by 11th and 5th House activities, which include large institutions, corporations, friends, leaders, brilliant ideas, the unconventional, astrology, father figures in large institutions, corporations, non-profits and labor movements with lots of past experience, workers rights, leading attractive female artists and socialites that handle money, accidents involving water such as rain, floods, rivers, sea, storms, stream, main water pipes, dams, and/or snow, as well as the creative and performing arts, sports (NY Mets baseball team collapse), children, play, etc. On beneficial days, these areas will do quite well.

The 2007 Solar Eclipse in Virgo-Leo makes the New York City Tri-state area vulnerable to earthquakes during the difficult periods shown below. If such an earthquake do occur, it most likely would have the greatest impact on 11th House and 5th House features and activities, i.e., leaders, large corporations and institutions, the stock market, sports facilities and games, children, youth at play, water resources and supplies, electricity, businesses, the elderly, especially older males, creative and performing arts industry, television, entertainment facilities and activities, including Broadway, theatres, movies and children shows, fans, friends, etc. that these houses cover. For example, see: Broadway Shutdown, Theatre Walkout, Broadway Brink of Shutdown.

Already we have seen the direct and personal impact of August 15, 2007 magnitude 8.0 earthquake in Peru that is on the path of the eclipse and the deep psychological concerns raised about safety in Indonesia and Southeast Asia (which is close to the nadir) after the 8.4 magnitude earthquake of September 12, 2007.

The number 11 in the date of 2007 solar eclipse in Virgo-Leo of September 11, 2007 is a power number in numerology. The number 22 in the date of 2006 solar eclipse in Virgo of September 22, 2006 is also a power number in numerology. It is significant that the 2007 and 2006 solar eclipses in Virgo occurred on days that are power numbers in numerology, i.e., September 11, 2007 and September 22, 2006.

On an overall basis, eclipses are agents of change. For this reason, they were feared, dreaded and loved by cultures pasted.

Eclipses produce crises and change that can bring great danger, rewards, benefits, heal long standing wound, pain and suffering, create challenges or bring new opportunities, death or destruction of existing forms, structures and modalities of life. Ancient people feared eclipses because they brought change into their lives by stirring things up. Metaphysically speaking, eclipses represent a kind of cosmic sex of the solar system that occurs exclusively between the Earth, its Moon and the Sun. It happens no where else in the solar system the way it occurs on earth.

When the Sun's dominance of life on earth is temporarily eclipsed by a much smaller, passive, yet significantly effective Moon, demonstrating the universal relationship between the large and small, it allows penetration of a much stronger and raw cosmic energy from constellations on the celestial ecliptic that do not normally have that type of focused influence and penetration on life on planet Earth.

It is this burst of outer cosmic celestial energy that pushes and propels life on Earth in new directions from moment to moment, day to day and year to year. Normally this push is towards a particular goal, objective or direction that that particular constellation may represent. For eclipses occurring on the back-drop or stage of the constellation of Virgo, Pisces or Leo in 2006-2007, the energies of those constellations are magnified on Earth bringing much needed change and revolution towards a particular direction.

The number 400 is important in Sun Moon relationship that makes eclipses possible. For example, the ratio of the size of the Moon to that of the Sun is 400. The number of times the Moon is closer to the earth than the Sun is 1/400. This causes the apparent size of the Moon relative to the Sun as seen in the sky to be 1:1 ratio. The number of kilometers the Moon turns on its axis in
a day is 400 kilometers. And the number of times the Earth rotates faster than the Moon is 400.

Because the Sun is 400 times larger and 400 times further away, perfect visual alignment exist between the Sun and Moon. As a result, the Sun and Moon is seen as the same apparent size in the sky.

The Sun and the Moon work as a team. In midsummer north of the equator, the Sun sets north of west, whereas the Full Moon sets south of west. In midwinter, the situation reverses.

Both the Sun and the Moon sets at the same point in the sky at the spring and autumn equinox, when day and night are the same length.

Solar and lunar eclipses are very important. No self respecting civilization of the past would take decisions without considering the effects of past, future or recent eclipses. Almost without exception, advanced civilizations of the past built instruments, towers and great stone monuments to observe, measure and interpret solar and lunar eclipses. Societies of the modern scientific era believe that eclipses are not important and have no effect on life or human civilization.

Where an eclipse falls in your chart determines which planets, signs, elements, modalities and houses that will be affected. If the eclipse falls in your natal Sun sign, e.g., Virgo, or in your first house (Virgo rising), you will be directly affected by the eclipse.

The effect of the 2006 solar eclipse in Virgo on food stock (example, dog food from China) germs and disease was discussed in the note 2006 SolarEclipse in Virgo. The 2007 Solar Eclipse in Virgo-Leo will have similar effects, with the added difference that major celebrity type figures and politicians will be affected instead of just the general population.

The 2007 solar eclipse in Virgo-Leo will become active at the time of the eclipse (September 11, 2007) due to Mars having just crossed over 29 degrees Virgo on September 7, 2007. (The activation period can start up to 2-3 months prior as seen with Peru's August 15, 2007 8.0 magnitude earthquake that was on the Path of This Eclipse.) Hence, some of the effects that we experience from about September 3, 2007 to about September 30, 2007 will be related to both the 2006 and 2007 solar eclipses due to Mars position in both these eclipses.

Also See "Mars in Cancer" below for further astro and metaphysical analysis.

Mars entered Cancer in the Tropical Zodiac on September 29, 2007 and will remain there (except for retrograde motion in January and February 2008) until May 9, 2008.

On September 29, 2007, when Mars entered the Tropical Sign of Cancer, it was also at 6° of Gemini in the Sidereal Zodiac.

Mars will remain in Gemini in the Sidereal Zodiac until April 29, 2008 when it enters Cancer in that Zodiac. Mars leaves Cancer in the Sidereal Zodiac on June 21, 2008, which is the summer solstice.

On June 22, 2008, Mars leaves Cancer in the Sidereal Zodiac to enter Leo, promising a very hot and fiery summer, and yes, warmer temperatures do bring strong, and sometimes devastating, hurricanes in the Tropical Region of the Northern Hemisphere.

Mars is in a "fall" position (weakest possible position) in the Tropical Zodiac from September 29, 2007 to May 9, 2008, except from January 1, 2008 to March 4, 2008 when Mars retrogrades back into Gemini in the Tropical Zodiac.

During this period from September 29, 2007 to May 9th, 2008, the Moon in Aries and the Moon's Nodes, as well as other aspects of Saturn and Neptune in the Tropical Zodiac could have a stronger effect in triggering earthquakes or similar events.

This means that Mars energy (in terms of strength, motivation, zeal, drive, fervor, etc.) is the weakest that it can be in the Tropical Zodiac from September 29, 2007 to May 9, 2008, and therefore most likely will not act as a good initiator of earthquakes in that Zodiac during this period, but not so in the Sidereal Zodiac that rules universal forces where Mars will remain in Gemini from September 17, 2007 until April 28, 2008 before entering Cancer on April 29, 2008.

Although weakened by the Tropical Zodiac's influence in Cancer from September 29, 2007 to May 9, 2008, especially above and below the Tropics in the temperate zones of the northern and southern hemispheres, the only time that we can say with some sense of confidence that Mars would lose much of its initiatory power and pull is the period from April 29, 2008 to May 9, 2008 when Mars will be fully in the sign of Cancer in both the Tropical and Sidereal Zodiacs.

During this CRITICAL 10-DAY FALL PERIOD of April 29, 2008 to May 9, 2008, (which needs further analysis in order to be more specific) we would expect a complete lull or almost no major earthquake activities or volcanic eruptions at all.

While some may think that this is good, it might not be so good after all - before a storm comes a calm.

When Mars loses its pull and power, things fall apart!

For example, things that depend on Mars energy and strength in order to win, push ahead or achieve success and sustenance often collapse or completely fall apart - including dams, bridges, governments, large businesses, strong political figures and other well maintained "Saturn-type" structures ("Saturn-type" means related to the planet Saturn and the Sign of Capricorn).

What will cause these collapses during the Mars Fall Period, which has already begun, (essentially lasting from September 29, 2007 to June 21, 2008, summer solstice, but more critically during the 10-day period of April 29, 2008 to May 9, 2008) is not so much an explosion of any kind that may be external to the structure, but rather a collapse or implosion from within stemming from a lack of inner strength that might be found in the lack of tenacity of concrete or steel reinforcing rods used in buildings, dams, mines and bridges, decay and cavities with respect to teeth and bone structures in people and animals, lack of political will and/or support for governments and political figures, reduced earning capacity (strength) stemming from lower revenues for giant banks and corporations, water erosion from steam, snow, floods, heavy rain and/or storms (Uranus in Pisces), engine failure or collapse, that might be viewed as an implosion or explosion, due to the use of poor grade combustion fuels, including poorly developed and distributed bio-fuels, or poorly maintained engines that might have needed complete overall repair and upgrade for land, sea and air use or travel.

See: Collapses of 2007

In this regard, it would be a good idea for civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers to complete all work in assessing / checking / fixing / repairing / upgrading bridges, dams, building, engines, machinery and other structures and take appropriate corrective actions before April 29, 2008 when Mars energy will fall to an all time low.

We need to get through this entire period with the least number of implosions and collapses that are detrimental and avoidable. Some collapses and implosions occurring during this period have been years in the making and in this regard are inevitable.

Weak dams could collapse during this period as well causing massive floodings - See Uranus in Pisces.

We may find during this period that extremely active volcanoes may taper-off or completely stop and hurricanes and storms in warm or hot tropical regions of the world are no where to be found, except when Mars enters Leo after May 9, 2008 in the Tropical Zodiac and after June 21, 2008 in the Sidereal Zodiac.

Some wars and aggressive battles may "cool-down" or taper off during this period as well. This does not mean that these armed conflicts have stopped or ended or that they will not flare up again with even greater intensity when Mars enters Leo on June 22, 2008 or shortly thereof.

At that time, around June 21, 2008, all hell will break loose, meaning the biggest and largest volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornados occurring right around or after the 2008 summer solstice of June 21, 2008 (This could start up to 14 days earlier, e.g., as early as June 7, 2008.)

A lack of strong Mars energy from April 29, 2007 to May 9, 2008 could result in very cold, wintry-type weather conditions setting new world records in frigidity. In some countries in the Northern Hemisphere, it might actually feel like a New Ice Age dawning.

People in the Northern Hemisphere should prepare for cold weather late April to early May, and then a very hot summer after June 21, 2008. People in the Southern Hemisphere may experience the same as well.

Still births might increase during the Mars Fall Period as well, and some mothers might find it difficult or hard to deliver boy babies.

The Fall of Mars from September 29, 2007 to June 21, 2008 in the Tropical and Sidereal Zodiacs could express itself in major engine failures (air/land/sea), poor stock market results, devastatingly poor results for sports car racing, previously outstanding heroes and teams in all athletic fields of endeavor as well as ambush and/or substantial failures on the battle field in wars and other aggressive or competitive actions, or a complete and unexpected turn around in competitive behavior in such events and actions.

Virgo is a mutable sign and Leo is a fixed sign. Unlike last year's solar eclipse in Virgo in both the Tropical and Sidereal Zodiacs, some things will change while others will remain rigidly fixed as if no one or nothing under the Sun can move it. When things do change or move, that change will be permanent and there will be no going back at all. Because Leo in the Sidereal Zodiac is involved in the September 2007 solar eclipse, things that change radically are more likely to remain that way, especially for issues and matters of high or universal importance such as healthcare, interest rates, education as well as beliefs and values.

The area of health that will be significantly affected by the 2007 Solar Eclipse in Virgo-Leo is the heart. There will be an significant increase in coronary heart problems and diseases for which a simple change in diet of reducing or avoiding carbohydrates coupled with mild and joyful early morning exercise can help. The eclipse is likely to produce heartless actions or behavior during difficult periods and heartful actions and behaviors during beneficial periods.

The 2006-2008 eclipse cycle will be a time of purification and great changes when people will seek justice, knowledge and wisdom.

On the positive side, quantum scientific leaps and breakthroughs will occur in persistent healthcare issues and diseases such as coronary heart disease whereby a stronger link will be established between coronary heart disease and diet, particularly with respect to carbohydrates and the consumption of fresh vegetables and protein based foods, including meat.

Tightening global and national economies will increase discrimination in all spheres of social and economic life, particularly among political leaders and leaders of industry. Leaders will play a bigger role in combating discrimination and will be subject of discrimination themselves. Discrimination lawsuits will increase dramatically involving race and Age discrimination in the workplace whereby strong leadership will emerge to shed light on the issue.

Healing will come to many, including those afflicted by coronary heart disease and nervous disorders.

Since Mercury is involved as the ruler of Virgo, androgyny will override male and female biases during this period with a stronger emphasis on leadership, artistry, play and children.

Transformation of the body and mind through diet, yoga and exercise will help maintain balance and wholeness during this unnecessarily fretful and worrisome period that could potentially affect the heart.

In recognition of global warming, leaders of the energy industry that promote the use of fossil fuel oil, the shock absorbers of planet Earth, will take the lead in investing in renewable energy, particularly SOLAR ENERGY. The Solar Eclipse in LEO in Sidereal Zodiac virtually assure it to be so.

Science, Technology and Greed have raped Earth Mother, ruled by Virgo and Ceres. This two-year eclipse cycle will sharpen focus on spirit and the environment, giving less regard to “pure science” and “rational thinking” and “logical analyses” that have dominated the world since the start of the industrial revolution, dutifully serving and promoting the material objectives of the gods of science devoid of wisdom and considerations of the heart (Leo).

Infant mortality will continue to improve. Overall, infant morality has been reduced compared to periods before the 2006 solar eclipse period that started around September 22, 2006.

VALUES: Values of dedication, honesty and integrity in public and private life will pay greater dividends during this cycle than they did in the recent past.

JUSTICE: While the U.S. courts system is perceived to have slipped in the eyes of international jurists from many countries in the world, there will be, more so than in the past, a stronger emphasis on justice. The 2006 solar eclipse in Virgo being on the cusp of Libra virtually assures it. However, depending where the eclipse falls on a subject’s chart, the reverse may also be true resulting in unexpected atrocity of justice. Nevertheless, whether the pendulum swings to the right or left, the author believes that it will swing both ways in dramatic fashion, the whole concept of proper application of jurisprudence will come under tight public and global scrutiny.

WORK APPRECIATION: Even though remuneration and compensation will be far less than expected for actual work value performed, strong focus on work, work ethics and the value of a job well done will be appreciated and bring good rewards in the next eclipse cycle, 2008-2010.

Under the 2007 solar eclipse's influence, labor rates will continue to remain low, currently about US$7.50 in the USA or about the price for two gallons of gas, half the price for a pound of beef stake and about half the price for a gallon of cow's milk.

PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES: Public health and hygiene issues involving GERMS and BACTERIA of all types continues to be high on Virgo’s agenda, especially since Virgo rules health and hygiene. With the 2007 solar eclipse occurring in Leo in the Sidereal Zodiac, it means that these issues will take center stage from 2007-2008. As predicted last year, accidental bacteria fallout in the form of liquid from nuclear reactors producing electricity (Pluto involved going direct and downgraded to dwarf) occurred in Japan on July 16, 2007 when an earthquake damaged the world's largest nuclear power plant. Recalls for beef, dog and cat food and vegetables continue to be 2007 biggest public health issue as predicted last year in the note on 2006 Solar eclipse in Virgo. In 2006, E. Coli outbreak in 21 states involving spinach with one confirmed death in Wisconsin, legionnaire disease outbreak forcing temporary closure of Mercer County Civil Court in New Jersey, as well as respiratory ailments of 9-11 rescue workers are the warm-ups of this profound celestial event. In 2007, E-coli leads the pack with a major recall of beef in September 2007 a couple weeks after the 2007 solar eclipse in Virgo.

LOWEST EMPLOYMENT RATE: Because the Earth Sign of Virgo is involved, the demand for labor will continue to rise dramatically, but at lower rates of relative compensation. Hard work for little pay will continue to be the theme of the day (Low minimum wage relative to the cost of gas. Those who work hard under this influence will be rewarded later, but not now, most likely after October 2008.

DEADLY DISEASES: As stated last September 2006, just as these positive news developments are announced, new and more deadly diseases might appear, causing fear, anxiety, public concern and much unjustified worry.

UNSAFE WATER: Health problems could come from water and its many uses. Stress and high anxiety arising from overuse of the internet and other electronic mediums, including television, will create health problems not yet identified as problematic or operative.

INDIGESTION: Digestive problems will occur in 2007-2008 as well. Bacteria from unhygienic practices and infected foods will have strong effects. On the positive side, healing will come to many who have long suffered digestive disorder or similar discomforts. There could also be an increase in stomach cancer as well as breakthrough in this field as well. Caring for the digestive system through cleansing and maintaining regular bowel movements might help to promote good health during this eclipse period.

NATIVES OF VIRGO: Those born under the sign of Virgo or has their Moon, ascendant or more than two planets positively aspected in Virgo will focus their attention in this two-year period on fine tuning their body, mind and spirit in an attempt to create a sense of order in their lives. However, attempts to change others will fail bitterly.

PLUTO: Pluto aligns this fall and winter on the Galactic Center bringing energy from the center of the galaxy. This is not a good period. Sexual diseases and new medical breakthroughs involving fertility and the sexual organs are strongly possible.

SCIENCE DIVISION: Rationality, logical analyses, deductive reasoning, efficiency and practicality will play major roles in 2007-2008, but not always with positive effect. Major blunders and errors will be "rationally" and "deductively" made. Major miscalculations will occur with Jupiter's involvement.

MUTUAL RECEPTIONS: Religion, oil, water, storms and electricity will continue to be big topics in the news due to the mutual reception of Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius until 2011.

EARTHQUAKES IN DIVERSE PLACES: The 2007 solar eclipse in Virgo occurring in an earth sign could trigger earthquakes in uncharted fault lines that have been inactive for more than 10,000 years similar to the earthquake at Hector Mine near Joshua Tree, CA on Oct 16, 1999, registering M7.1 on the Richter scale and the recent earthquake in the Gulf. We should watch closely for earthquakes occurring in uncharted or newly discovered fault lines.

MENTAL HEALTH IMPACT: Extreme worry will lead to mental/nervous breakdowns and/or physical exhaustion, some leading to stroke and heart attacks. To maintain balance and proper health, this should be a time to readily seek help from mental health professionals and sing, laugh, dance and play, especially during austere circumstances of personal and/or global crises.

STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE: Strategies that get bogged down in details and address problems through compartmentalization failing to see the big picture will fail during this 2 year eclipse cycle. However, taking a calm and patient 1, 2, 3 step by step approach will yield strong and lasting results. With Leo involved, include children and the creative arts in all you do for best results.

GLOBAL EFFECTS: Virgo represents the goddess of the harvest holding the grain, while Leo represents the indomitable Sun. Dry harvest is the result. During times of eclipse, it points to abundance, drought, starvation, fertility and sterilization, both sides of the coin will be very active.

After seven years of plenty, will come seven years of drought. He that is wise will not consume the geese that lays the golden eggs.

A CALL TO SERVICE: Importantly, eclipses in Virgo are a time of personal transformation when we can move from personal to universal consciousness through application of self and one's resources in selfless acts of service to others. Many will be called to service to provide material and physical assistance to others in need. However, don't be shammed into thinking that by writing a handsome check to a national or worthwhile charity that you have relieved your cosmic obligations to provide service to others under Virgo's influence. Many times the people closes to you (family/boss/employee/friends) are the ones that are most in need of your help. Those with strong Piscean traits or qualities who choose to selflessly serve and generously give to their friends and enemies will be richly rewarded.

ECLIPSE CYCLE: This is the first solar eclipse in the Virgo eclipse cycle that will end with a lunar eclipse on February 20, 2008. The Virgo eclipse cycle that started March 14, 2006, with a lunar eclipse, will close when Saturn transits the sensitized spot of 18° Virgo 25˙ of the earlier 2008 solar eclipse on October 28, 2008. However, just as we are not yet through with the Aries-Libra eclipse cycle of 2004-2006, remnants of Virgo's influence will continue well into the next eclipse cycle lasting 2-3 years.

In all, a total of 10 eclipses will cover the 2 year period:

  • 1 solar eclipse in Aries (Mar. 29, 2006);
  • 3 lunar eclipses in Virgo (Mar. 14, 2006, Mar. 3, 2007 & Feb. 20, 2008) ;
  • 1 solar eclipse in Pisces (Mar. 18, 2007 );
  • 1 solar eclipse in Aquarius (Feb. 6, 2008);
  • 2 lunar eclipses in Pisces (Sept. 7, 2006 & August 28, 2007), and
  • 2 solar eclipses in Virgo (Sept. 22, 2006 and Sept. 11, 2007).

Pisces, the other half of the Virgo/Pisces eclipse axis, will be discussed at another time. This eclipse occurred in Pisces on Sunday, March 18, 2007, 9:42 PM, EST - Edgar Cayce's birth date.

The solar eclipse in Aries in March 2006 closes out the Aries-Libra cycle of 2004-2006 and the 2008 solar eclipse in Aquarius initiates the Aquarius-Leo cycle for 2008-2010.

The two solar eclipses occurring 2006-2008 in the Tropical Sign of Virgo will take place from:

Friday, September 22, 2006, 7:45 a.m. EST at the critical degree of 29° Virgo 20˙ (Sidereal: 5° Virgo 23˙); and

Tuesday, September 11, 2007, EST at 18° Virgo 25˙ Tropical (Sidereal: 24° Leo 27˙).

This means that much of what is discussed above will continue well into 2008, closing out the Virgo eclipse cycle about the time of the U.S. Presidential elections in November 2008.

LENGTH OF VIRGO ECLIPSE CYCLE: While the 2006 and 2007 solar eclipses in Virgo will have an immediate impact, the September 11, 2007 solar eclipse in Virgo will be felt on August 1, 2008 when Mars transits its sensitized spot and will close out soon thereafter on or about October 28, 2008. This means that the Virgo eclipse cycle that started with a lunar eclipse in Virgo on March 2006 will not come to an end until just before the U.S. Presidential elections in November 2008.

FEAST & FAMINE: Hence, August, September and October 2008 will be a strong period of feast and famine. In an over abundance of plenty of some stocks, many shall suffer through starvation from the lack of other food stocks.

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT: The next two years is an excellent time for weight management. Those wanting to lose weight may find it more easily done under this influence. The few who may want to gain weight should be successful as well.

The young lion shall overcome the old!

In the run up to the 2008 U.S. Presidential elections, we are likely to see a strong and lively debate on issues focusing on food security, public health and safety, clean air and water, inter-state, domestic and international trade and commerce, U.S. growing trade and budget deficits, freedom of speech, communications, the environment, international image and reputation, as well as values. With Leo involved, celebrities will play a major role in endorsing candidates and helping candidates to win.

With proud and big mane Leo involved, those who look the role and talk-the-talk are more likely to win the U.S. presidential election than those that are strong on the issues.

In other words, image will parlay a major role in US 2008 presidential election. The presidency is likely to go to the candidate that looks and sounds presidential, and in this regard, Leos such as Barack Obama are strongly favored by the stars.

FOOD & HELP! The U.S. government has spent "billions and billions" (using Carl Sagan's phraseology) on homeland security heavily arming and protecting state and local police forces with sirens blasting day and night in quiet residential and commercial communities, meticulously scrutinizes its citizenry and general population on the electronic and community radar screens for suspicious behavior and activities, and is well poised to blast to smithereens the next terrorist that dares to cross our open and welcoming borders to attack this country again by blowing up themselves. However, as wealthy and as great as this nation is, the U.S. government has done very little with disaster preparedness to ensure adequate food and medical supplies to address public health needs and concerns should a major natural disaster such as Katrina or massive earthquake above M7.0 on the Richter scale strike a major metropolitan area such as New York City or Los Angeles - where some of North America's largest fault lines presently exist. If New Orleans was a disaster just waiting to happen, what about New York and Los Angeles? These cities have yet to awaken to such realities? The eclipse cycle in Virgo and Leo will bring these issues (food, housing and public health) into very sharp focus.

MOVE TO MATURITY: With Virgo involved, this becomes a period of growing up, i.e., completing the separation from proverbial “mother,” whom ever she may be in individual, community, national or global life. It is also a period of taking responsibility. Virgo eclipses will influence the formation new relationships to meet the challenges of the future, especially in the world outside of what we may call "home". It is a growing up time for America as well that must now face the consequences of its past actions - both good and bad!

CONCLUSION: the solar eclipse occurring on September 11, 2007 at 8:44 am, EST at 18° Virgo 25˙ will be felt strongly in western Canada, Mountain areas of USA including Denver Colorado as well as South America, Portugal and West Africa, Southeast Asia, Western New Zealand, eastern India, Nepal, Myanmar and mid-western China and the New York metro area.
